Tsutsuji Matsuri

On Saturday, Julie and I went to a tsutsuji matsuri (a festival for the flower pictured above) in Shichinohe for a picnic with the people in her office.  It has a whimsical afternoon in the sun hanging out amidst these beautiful flowering trees.  Our picnic site also had a glorious view of the outskirts of Shichinohe, complete with a glimpse of Mt. Hakkoda (pictured above) in the background.

It was also great to see Julie’s coworkers again.  They’re smart, kind, and hilarious.
